As we read through the Bible I have mixed feelings about the relationship between God and His people. I see a creator God wanting to have a people set apart, unique and wholsome who trust and obey Him. God goes to great lengthes to dazel His people to build a faith in them. But they continue to sin and act in violent and immoral ways bringing Gods wrath against them. Yet every time they move away from God he bargins and pleads with thm to return to Him promising great reward if they do so and harsh punishment if they continue to act rebeliouse in their sin.
ReplyDeleteWhat's disturbing to me is all the blood sacrifices, all the harsh consequences ad all the stuborn rebellion of the Israelites who God has chosen. Yet wheni look at my own history is it any better? perhaps not.
