LETTERS TO GOD- my Abba Father

When I was a child our parents had a "children are to be seen and not heard" policy. Coming from a large family it worked well around the dinner table especially when our parents entertained dinner guests.
The problem with this practice was as children we never experienced the- Father Knows Best, kind of family where you could bring all your problems to dear old dad and expect quick wise and loving counsel.
So many problems, worries and fears were left unattended to.
I married young and had a large family, six children by the time I was twenty five. With a large family there are many challenges. With many challenges there are many needs and my biggest was a need to have some one- a Fathers Knows Best kind of some one to take all my cares to.
I gave my heart to the Lord and tried to get to know Him through the scriptures. One verse leaped from the page when I was searching for comfort one day (Acts 17:24-28) we are told of a loving Father who cares about our burdens.
So from that day on I started my diary as Dear Abba Father instead of dear diary. Through the years I have recorded many fears and needs- prayed scripture and seen many miracles. More recently I have started the habit of pasting photos in my prayer journal. These photos are of people I love and pray for or snaps of amazing places I have been where Abba Father especially met me and touched my heart.
I encourage every one I meet who is searching for God the comforter to try writing your prayers, better yet, if you are creative express those prayers in scrap booking fashion. This would make a lovely keep sake for your family when the Lord calls you home.
